I want my clients to find relief from the difficult experience of PTSD, triggering thoughts and uncomfortable sensations and feelings in the body. I work holistically with clients in order to uncover and work through whatever it is that is causing them the negative feelings. I specialize in working with clients who have experienced the impact of trauma (this includes post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and complex and/or developmental trauma).
I understand that the idea of developing compassion for your self can feel really big and difficult. When life feels overwhelming and out of our control, we tend to shut down and become numb until an experience brings everything to the surface and we overreact. We guilt ourselves and/or blame others and we can get stuck in this cycle. This pattern keeps us from believing we can safely experience our own emotions and leaves us unable to tolerate the emotions of others.
I am passionate in honoring the privilege to share space with each person I engage in this work with, and I look forward to supporting each and every one of my clients. I value my clients, and the work we do together. My office is a safe, private and serene space where you can have the freedom to be yourself - without judgement.
I provide counseling to individuals, couples and families. I work with teen clients aged 16+, young adults and adults.
I provide specialized therapy for therapists who have experienced a traumatic event, or who have experienced a trauma vicariously through a client. Together we can work to reduce your reactions and responses, and get you back to feeling less triggered in your role as therapist.
I am available for supervision for therapists who are looking to obtain their LPC. I create a secure space for you to explore your work, and your reactions and responses to clients. I will challenge you to look at your client through a holistic lens, and to consider various ways of helping a client to meet their goals.
I have extensive training in the field of trauma, and in specialized forms of treatment such as:
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR Therapy)
Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS).
I utilize these types of therapeutic modalities in addition to body work (such as yoga) and various elements of art therapy.
